Falsely Accused Amidst Tragedy

A man about 21 years old – when he was riding with me – had been driving the car of a friend, and she, the owner, riding in the front passenger seat. Her passenger side door had been damaged in a previous accident, and had yet to be repaired. As they passed a freight hauling truck, the turbulence pulled her door open and she fell from the car onto the roadway, losing her life.

An officer at the scene accused the driver, her friend, of pushing her out of the vehicle, and he was sentenced to prison. Having nothing else to do, he studied to gain his release while serving his sentence in prison.

After several years he had at least accomplished his release from prison, but was not yet fully exonerated from the accusation of the officer. Remarkably, this man, even through all this including the tragic death of his friend, had a resilient attitude of peace. He applied himself from within prison to overturn the conviction.
